David Benavidez vs. Anthony Yarde takes place on November 22 in a 175-pound clash, as fans and pros gave their predictions.

Benavidez puts his belt on the line for the first time, as he initially was the interim champ before being elevated once Dmitry Bivol vacated. Benavidez has had two fights at light heavyweight, beating Oleksandr Gvozdyk and David Morrell Jr., respectively. As for Yarde, he is coming off a victory over domestic rival Lyndon Arthur to cap off their trilogy in a 2-1 head-to-head. Yarde has his third world title shot after being stopped by Sergey Kovalev and Artur Beterbiev in his two previous attempts.

Pre-Fight

“This is a fighter with his back against the wall. This is a fighter that feels like this is his last opportunity. I know he’s a dangerous fighter and I know he’s putting everything into this training camp. But you know what? I train like that every fight. I know a defeat, it takes me down a lot. I’m not going through that. I’m working extremely hard to make sure that I never go through that,” Benavidez said

Predictions

“Benavidez, if he gets his way with the body work, the pressure, the volume, the burst, if he gets his way, he will wear down Yarde. At the end of the day, I like Benavidez to win,” Teddy Atlas stated

“Yarde about to get his behind whooped, stomped on, and knocked out. I’m trying to warn everybody. How can I describe what’s going to happen without offending anyone? But I don’t give a damn. I’m from the old school. “It’s going to be a good fight, but it’s going to be one of those fights where Yarde is going to get drained while fighting. He might have a few rounds where he has a little success, but he’s going to get beat on. It’s going to be like an insect getting trapped in a spider web. That’s exactly how it’s going to be. Benavidez is going to put knots on his head. Yarde is a decent boxer, but Benavidez is too long and the wrong style for him,” Tim Bradley stated
