In some breaking boxing news, Frank Warren has confirmed that there will be a boxing card in Saudi Arabia on December 23rd, 2023, despite the Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk fight looking like it will take place in 2024.

After Fury’s hard-fought victory over Francis Ngannou, Warren confirmed that the fight would take place next year. The Gypsy King had taken quite a few blows in the fight, which resulted in him hitting the canvas in the third round.

Thereafter, Usyk’s promoter Alex Krassyuk admitted that a new date had been agreed, as an announcement was expected.

“In the contract, it was December 23, but it’s a matter of common sense and common reason. If a fighter isn’t ready to go, you cannot make him. We would rather stay flexible, stay relaxed. We have settled already on the new date, and next week, we’re going to announce it; hopefully, of course. Yeah,” Krassyuk said

Warren’s Announcement

And since the Fury-Usyk fight is off for December, there are question marks over who could headline the card. The main name that appears to be in the conversation is Ngannou himself.

The former UFC heavyweight champion’s stock has risen following the Fury fight, which is why bouts against Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua were being mentioned.

Regardless of who it may be, Warren had something big planned for the boxing fanbase.

“There’s gonna be a big night in December, and we’ll be announcing very soon. It will be massive. You’re gonna love it. I can’t give you all the information at the moment, but everything’s going in the right direction for it to be a historic night in boxing. It’s gonna feature boxers from all over the word. You will be surprised by the names. There’s some great British fighters too,” Warren stated
