Anthony Joshua Admits Jarrell Miller Got The Best Of Him

Anthony Joshua has admitted that Jarrell Miller got the better of him during their pre-fight build up.

The pair were set to face each other in 2019 only for the bout to be canceled when Miller failed numerous drug tests.

As a result, Joshua ended up facing Andy Ruiz Jr. in his New York debut. However, things failed to materialize as AJ suffered a shock defeat.

But before all that played out, Joshua and Miller had an edition of the ‘Gloves Are Off’ as part of their pre-fight build up.

The segment involves both fighters sitting across from each other, as they are grilled about their upcoming fight.

Although the footage was not released since Miller pulled out, ‘AJ’ admitted that he was out of his depth.

“The AJ vs Miller Gloves Are Off? I’ll be honest yeah, in Sky [studios] it was 1-1 in face-offs. I got battered though, we had a freestyle battle man.

“Miller’s got bars. I was just taking shot after shot after shot. I was thinking, ‘This motherf***er man. I hope they don’t show that. If they do I want some royalties,” AJ

Nevertheless, Miller has not stopped calling for the fight in the aftermath. The American targeted Joshua, prior to his Dillian Whyte bout, on the basis that he was not the same fighter.

However, the chances of the fight happening are slim, given the bad blood and the reluctance of Eddie Hearn to do business with Miller. And yet, that didn’t prevent Miller from putting ‘AJ’ on notice.

“I’m not playing no games with nobody. I’m playing no games. There is bad blood there in a boxing sense so it would be great entertainment.

“It’s nothing personal, I just don’t care for him, but when I see you on my radar, I don’t like you. I don’t like anything about you. I want to rip your guts out and nothing [is] going to change that.

“I’m not going anywhere for a while, I’m back, I’m here to stay and I’m coming with vengeance. And if anybody wants the smoke they know I’m here. I’m back baby,” Miller
