Canelo Alvarez Launches “Canelo Media”
Canelo Alvarez has confirmed the launch of Canelo Media, a content company formed in partnership with Box to Box Films.
Known for revolutionizing sports media with hit Netflix docuseries like Formula 1: Drive to Survive and Full Swing, Box to Box Films will collaborate with the Mexican to produce scripted and unscripted projects. Canelo detailed his transition from being the subject of the camera to the executive behind it.
While Canelo has been featured in numerous documentaries, this partnership places him in the producer’s chair. By aligning with the specialists of sports storytelling, Canelo Media aims to move beyond standard “highlight reels” and into deep, cinematic narratives. Fans will get a preview of this in an upcoming Netflix documentary specifically chronicling the preparation behind his trilogy bout with Gennady Golovkin.
The media launch comes at a pivotal moment in Canelo’s boxing career. While he builds his portfolio outside the ropes, his next move inside them is already finalized for the fall.In September 2026, Canelo Promotions will headline a collaboration with Riyadh Season and The Ring Magazine. While the venue (Saudi Arabia) and the partners are locked in, the specific opponent remains the biggest question in boxing.
