Israel Adesanya Vs. Joe Pyfer Predictions – ‘He’s Just Too Fast’

Former two-time UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is set to face Joe Pyfer on Saturday, as pros picked their winner.
Adesanya finds himself in the unfamiliar territory of a three-fight losing streak. Adesanya’s recent slump began with a decision loss to Sean Strickland in late 2023, followed by a fourth-round submission defeat to Dricus Du Plessis in August 2024. Most recently, in February 2025, Adesanya suffered a stunning second-round knockout at the hands of Nassourdine Imavov. Pyfer’s most recent outing at UFC 320 in October was a career-best performance. After a rocky start, he rallied to submit the dangerous Abus Magomedov via rear-naked choke in the second round.

“Uh, I’m… I’m going to go… I’ve been a fan of his for a very long time. He’s fell in some rough, uh, patches here, here, uh, not too long ago, but, uh, I still believe in him. I still think he can get this—still get it done, especially against a very good fighter like Joe Pyfer,” Adrian Yanez
“I’m going for Izzy. I think, I think Izzy’s just too fast, too crafty. Um, I don’t think he’s going to touch Izzy,” Stephen Thompson
“I’m gonna go with Pyfer on that one. You know, I think he’s just on the come up. I hate to say it, but it just kind of seems like he’s just kind of going down the other side of the hill, you know? Um, but yeah, I have Pyfer in that one,” Mario Bautista

“I think, uh, this is a huge step up for Pyfer. Um, I mean, I think Adesanya is just… he’s got such good range. I, I think he’ll, hopefully… I mean, maybe not the most exciting way, but I think he’ll kind of point fight him and just show, like, hey, this is the level of, like, the very top of the division,” Chase Hooper
“I mean, it depends on, uh, which… I got Israel. On paper, Israel wins, but I don’t… you just never know when it comes to the fight game. If, um, I don’t know how motivated Israel is at this moment, but, uh, Israel is a win,” Geoff Neal
