Oliveira Dethrones Holloway To Become BMF Champ

Charles Oliveira dominated Max Holloway to claim the BMF Championship.

Headlining UFC 326, all three judges turned in identical scorecards of 50-45. Oliveira utilized a relentless grappling-heavy game plan that completely neutralized Holloway’s striking. Oliveira set the tone in the opening minute with leg kicks followed by a transition to a takedown. He spent the majority of the first two rounds on Holloway’s back, hunting for rear-naked chokes and landing sharp, slicing elbows.

Every time Holloway managed to find space on the feet, Oliveira closed the distance, dragging the fight back to the canvas where he landed vicious ground-and-pound. By Round 4, Holloway looked uncharacteristically deflated. Oliveira’s cardio held up perfectly as he continued to land heavy right hands and pin Holloway against the cage. Both men disengaged in the final seconds of the fight to stand in the center and trade, but it was Charles’ night.
