Zuckerberg Eager For MMA Fight With Musk

Mark Zuckerberg is hopeful of facing Elon Musk in an MMA fight.
Zuckerberg was linked with the fight before both sides blamed each other for it breaking down. There were even suggestions that the Colosseum in Rome could have been used. Dana White was on record saying that the two sides were serious about making the fight. White said the event had the ability to bring in over a billion dollars in revenue.
Speculation has resurfaced over the fight happening after White joined Meta’s board of directors. The CEO of the UFC stated he was excited about the benefit of AI moving forward. AI has been introduced into combat sports. The Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury rematch used it. It had Usyk winning by 118-112, which was wider than the 116-112 card. Zuckerburg has now suggested that he could be working closer with White, saying he wants to fight Elon.
Zuckerberg Vs. Elon
“I want to [have an MMA fight], and I think I probably will. But we’ll see…2025 is going to be a very busy year on the AI [artificial intelligence] side. [And] I think the idea of having a competition, you really need to get into the headspace of ‘I’m going to fight someone this week’. I need to figure this out…I don’t know how with everything that’s going on in AI, [how] I’m going to have like a week or two where I can just get into this like ‘I’m going to fight someone’ [mindset]. But it’s good training and I would like to [compete] at some point,” Zuckerberg said
The fight would throw up an interesting dynamic. White has gotten closer to Musk too. The pair supported Donald Trump’s campaign for his second presidential run. The support proved crucial as Trump secured a second presidency to win the election. But MMA fans have more of an incentive to see Jon Jones face Tom Aspinall. Fans missed out on seeing Jones face Francis Ngannou.
The Biggest Fight
The latter left the UFC in 2023 after contract talks broke down. Ngannou later signed with the PFL, as White said he would not work with the PFL. However, the presence of the Saudis could change that, given their desire to make the biggest fights. But there are claims that Jones could price himself out of facing Aspinall. Reports indicated he wanted $30 million to face Aspinall. But Dana White shut down those suggestions, as that is the priority fight to make.
“I had heard a rumour that Jon Jones wanted $30 million to fight Tom Aspinall — and I did hear that rumor, and I did hear the UFC said yes, but it is not true. So Dana contacted me and said that rumour was [rubbish], so I felt obligated to tell everybody that was a fake rumour. Apparently Jon is thinking about retiring. And he should. He’s going to have to some day. I’m not saying he should retire, I’m saying he should think about it. Give the man all the time he wants. He can fight whenever he wants to fight. That’s Jon Jones. He’s the GOAT. So leave him alone,” Rogan stated
