Wilder Remains Certain That Fury Cheated - I Have Proof'

Deontay Wilder has doubled down on his belief that Tyson Fury cheated during their second fight.

Both boxers were involved in a thrilling trilogy. Their first fight ended in a controversial draw as Fury got up from the canvas in the final round to finish the fight. Fury stopped Wilder from becoming the new WBC heavyweight champion in the following two fights.

Those were Wilder’s first defeats as he failed to stop Fury like he had done 42 other fighters. In the aftermath, Wilder accused the Gypsy King of tampering with his gloves in the second fight. The heavyweight alleged that they had been loaded with an egg-shaped object. This was even though the boxing authorities had found no evidence. At the same time, Wilder’s camp saw the hands being wrapped, which is a standard procedure in all boxing fights.

Wilder On Fury Cheating

“It’s impossible for a brand new 10oz glove to bend, to keep a smushed-in form or to have loose space. I highly believe you had something hard in your glove, something the size and the shape of an egg-weight. It’s the reason why the side of my face swelled up in an egg-weight form. And it left a dent in my face as well…I know the truth behind that. [And] I don’t condone cheating and s**t like that. I know that no matter what people say,” Wilder said

Despite the pair having met each other in Saudi Arabia since that controversy, Wilder has maintained this stance today. He is preparing to take on Joseph Parker in Saudi Arabia on December 23rd, 2023. A victory put him in a position to fight Anthony Joshua for what could be a WBC title eliminator.

And if that were the case, Wilder would be a step closer to facing the winner of Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk. A fourth fight with Fury, therefore, could be a possibility. And yet, Wilder was still adamant that Fury had broken the boxing rules.

Wilder Doubles Down

“It isn’t so much what I think Fury did, it was what I know he did. But God said ‘victory is not yours, it’s his’, so I walk on that path. What I think has helped me a lot with life and what has made me happier – because I have proof of a lot of things [Fury did], you understand me?

“But that’s neither here nor there – but what has helped me on the journey of life is Ayahuasca. Ayahuasca has been a beautiful thing. I advise everyone to explore those options of taking Ayahuasca. It has definitely released something in me,” Wilder stated

Even with those claims, there is a perception that the American is still feeling the impact of those losses. The only way to rectify that would be to produce evidence for the claims that are being made or to rematch Fury and get a win. And there is no getting away from that.
