Usyk Vs. Dubois PPV Price Has Fans Divided – ‘Surely This Isn’t Real’

Boxing fans have been left divided over the UK pay-per-view price for Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois.

The fight will take place on August 26th, 2023, as Usyk puts his unified heavyweight titles, WBA, WBO, and IBF, on the line.

Victory for Usyk keeps his hopes of an undisputed fight with Tyson Fury alive, while a victory for Dubois would give him his first ever world title. The fight will air on TNT Sports for £19.95.

And in a fight where Usyk is the heavy favorite, the price has gotten people talking. After all, there was huge hope that Usyk would have faced Fury but talks over an April fight broke down. 

As such, boxing fans had this to say.

“Surely this isn’t real.”

“At the risk of being an old man shouting at clouds, how is this not part of an already pricey sports package? Is there anyone invested enough to pay extra?”

“If it does more than 20,000 buys I will be amazed.”

Nevertheless, the fight will throw up a different dynamic. Usyk will be fighting in front of a pro-Ukrainian crowd in Poland, as boxing is not deemed safe enough to return to Ukraine in light of the country’s war with Russia.

Not only that, but since Oleksandr will fight on the weekend of Ukrainian Independence fans, the champion will have extra motivation to put on a great performance. 

And by the looks of it, he is ready to deliver on the biggest night. His following comments confirmed as much.

“I’ve traveled the world fighting in the backyard of my opponents. This fight here in Poland will be the closest I get to a homecoming. Because of them, I have the opportunity to be here to defend my heavyweight titles. This country has always been kind to me,” Usyk
