Usyk Trolled By Fury

Tyson Fury has trolled Oleksandr Usyk in the aftermath of his win over Daniel Dubois

The Ukrainian overcame a fifth round knockdown, which was deemed a low blow, to stop the Brit in the ninth round. However, in the aftermath of the fight there were serious question marks raised.

Dubois’ punch divided the boxing community. Some believed that it was a legitimate punch, whilst others felt it was a low blow.

And given that Frank Warren has confirmed that Dubois’ team will appeal the decision, Fury has not helped things by adding fuel to the fire.

Fury Trolls Usyk

In the picture above, Fury can be seen wearing his shorts high. This was done to mock Usyk who also had his shorts worn high during the Dubois fight.

And since Usyk’s trunks were over his belly button, it was classed as a low blow which would not have otherwise occurred.

Despite this being the case, Usyk’s team were adamant that it was a low blow in the aftermath of the fight. The following comments confirmed as much.

Usyk’s Team

“Normally, at the rules meeting it is discussed that if someone hits a fighter on purpose below the belt he has to be punished for two points. If he does it again, he can be punished again or disqualified upon the discretion of the referee,” Alex Krassyuk

“If a punch lands and hits skin and trunk, that’s okay – or at least it can be, some referees may say not okay. But you can see Dubois’ hand lies right on the belt and when you do an uppercut – like happened with this – and the glove landed completely under the trunkline, then it is a low blow,” Egis Klimas

Ultimately, if Fury’s actions lead to the fight with Usyk getting made, then that can only be a good thing. But for now, a fight between the pair is still some way off.

So the sooner the fight gets made, the better it is for everyone. You can stay up-to-date with the latest happenings in the world of boxing by visiting boxingblitz right here.
