Usyk Breaks Fury's Heart Again With Another Win

Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury for the second time in a unanimous decision to retain his Unified Heavyweight Titles: 116-112, 116-112, 116-112.

The fight was a rerun of their first clash, where Usyk edged out a split decision. That fight turned on its head in the ninth round with Usyk dropping Fury, which ultimately got him over the line. This time Fury tried to change the script. Fury tried to establish his jab early on, with Usyk looking to counter in a cagey opening round. Usyk was attacking the body and keeping Fury busy with volume and foot movement. But Fury landed a right in the second to keep Usyk wary.

Usyk Vs. Fury

After a slow third, Usyk found success in the fourth round, landing a left hand. Fury hit back in the fifth with an uppercut. Another right hand to the body followed. Usyk responded with two lefts to the midsection, but it was Fury’s round. Usyk was still landing in the sixth with another left hand. But Usyk’s cheek showed signs of swelling in the eighth round.

The fight was stopped momentarily after a clash of heads. But neither fighter was slowing down. Usyk landed a left on Fury’s head in the 11th, followed by two more shots. After the final round, both fighters celebrated. But it was Usyk who got the win. Fury left the ring without giving an interview, leaving Usyk to revel in the glory. While Fury threw more punches at 509 compared to Usyk’s 423, the Ukrainian landed more. Usyk connected with 179 compared to Fury’s 144.

Post-Fight

“I win, it’s good. Listen, he’s a great fighter, a great opponent. It’s a great 24 rounds, unbelievable 24 rounds for my career. I don’t know, maybe I am training, preparing well. My wife helped me, my children,” Usyk

“Did you think I’d done enough to win it, truthfully? I swear to god I thought I’d done enough to win it by at least three rounds. I was on the front foot,” Fury

“It’s nuts. Did you have him as only winning four rounds out of eight? “Very harsh. It’s nuts. I don’t get it. But it is what it is, and we’ll see what happens in the future with Tyson. “Tyson was dumbfounded. They gave him four rounds out of the 12, which is impossible.

“I’ve been around a long time and I know I’m biased, but one judge didn’t give him, any rounds from round six onwards. Look! No rounds. How can that be? That’s impossible. “Same with the other judge. They gave him one round in the last six, and the same here with this guy. It’s crazy. I’m calm and collected, I’m not screaming and shouting. That is a nonsense. Oscar de la Hoya had him [Fury] winning by three or four rounds. And he’s a neutral,” Frank Warren
