UFC Reacts To McGregor’s Presidential Run – ‘He’d Do A Great Job’

The UFC has reacted to Conor McGregor’s decision to make a run for the Irish Presidency.
The UFC has a good relationship with US President Donald Trump, who has attended UFC events on numerous occasions. McGregor attended the White House this month, where he met Trump and addressed the media. During that process, McGregor hit out at the Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin. His grievances were over the country’s failure to tackle illegal immigration. Martin did not take those comments well, stating that McGregor’s views were not representative of what the country was thinking.
The problem McGregor has is that he is not the most popular figure in the country. This was after he was found liable in a civil sexual lawsuit issued by Nikita Hand. She alleged McGregor sexually assaulted her in 2018 at a hotel room in Dublin. While McGregor said he was innocent, he was found liable. He was ordered to pay her legal fees and damages, leaving his reputation in a bad place. He suffered pushback from brands. Proper No 12. Irish Whiskey will not use McGregor in their marketing, while the Hitman Video game franchise has stopped working with McGregor. McGregor reacted by stating he would run for President, which has now resulted in a reaction from the UFC.
McGregor’s Presidential Bid
“Ireland must fully implement the EU Migration Pact by June 12, 2026. So between now and 12 June 2026, several pieces of legislation have to be passed by both Houses of the Oireachtas & then signed by the President. The next presidential election must take place by 11 Nov 2025 Who else will stand up to (the) Government and oppose this bill? Any other Presidential candidate they attempt to put forward will be of no resistance to them. I will! For clarity also, as President, I would put forth this bill to referendum. Although I oppose greatly this pact, it is neither mine nor governments choice to make.
“It is the people of Irelands choice! Always! That is a true democracy! I would also be curious to hear our government officials reasoning for agreeing with this pact so fervently. I would love to hear the debates! Followed then by vote! This is the future of Ireland with me as President. All citizens of Ireland to have a voice and a choice on their future! God bless our people! Vote McGregor and have your voice heard!,” McGregor said
“I’m not really sure what to say about that one, I think he’d do a great job. He seems pretty passionate, he had a very impassioned speech at the White House. He has raised a number of very important topics and let’s just see… I know he’s pushing for the ultimate democracy, so let’s just see what people think. He then joked that The Mac Life reporter Oscar Willis who was sitting in the front row might be a better person to ask,” Dave Shaw (UFC Executive) said
