In today’s MMA news, The latest round of UFC Fight Night bouts have been confirmed with a new card set for December 2nd, 2023.

The event is set to take place in Austin, Texas, with two lightweight bouts that will keep fans entertained. Beneil Dariush will take on Arman Tsarukyan in one of the bouts.

Dariush is aiming to bounce back from his defeat to Charles Oliveira after being stopped, which ended a run of seven straight wins. Meanwhile, Tsarukyan is also coming into the bout after having been stopped by Joaquim Silva in the third round.

In the other bout, Dan Hooker will square off against Bobby Green. The former is in impressive form having overcome Claudio Puelles and Jalin Turner in his last two fights.

At the same time, Green is on a good run which includes back-to-back wins over Tony Ferguson and Grant Dawson. With that being said, here was the rest of the card.

Cejudo Vs. Dvalishvili

Elsewhere, Henry Cejudo and Merab Dvalishvili are reportedly in line to face each other next year in a bantamweight clash.

Cejudo has not been in the octagon since his recent fight against Aljamain Sterling in May. During the course of that process, Cejudo came out second best in a split-decision defeat. The bout was the first one that Cejudo had been in after being away for three years.

Meanwhile, Dvalishvili secured a victory over Petr Yan via a unanimous decision in his last fight. And now it appears that a fight could take place in January 2024.

And a victory for either fighter could put them in line to face Sean O’Malley for a shot at the bantamweight title after he had beaten Sterling to get the belt.

The news, therefore, increases the likelihood that O’Malley will face Marlon Vera for the first defense of his title. After all, the champion’s only defeat came at the hands of Vera, which has left a narrative for a fight to take place.

Reaction

“Will actually be really entertaining I think Cejudo gets served another loss though the division has evolved and left him far behind,” one fan stated

“Good match, Cejudo has to get a win to prove to everyone that coming out of retirement was worth it,” another said
“I rather cejudo win atleast he won’t attempt 80 takedowns when and him Sean fight  merab is so boring,” one user revealed
Ultimately, Cejudo has plenty to prove moving forward with doubts that he should not have come out of retirement. But the only way to silence those critics would be to continue winning. And there is no getting away from that. Find all the latest boxing news and MMA breaking updates on boxingblitz.
