UFC Fight Night – Gabriel Bonfim vs Randy Brown: Preview & Betting Tips

The UFC returns with an intriguing welterweight main event as seasoned contender Randy Brown faces off against fast-rising Brazilian prospect Gabriel Bonfim.
Bonfim (18-1) burst onto the scene in 2023 as one of Brazil’s most exciting new prospects. The younger of the Bonfim brothers, Gabriel started his UFC career with a flurry of first-round submission wins over Mounir Lazzez and Trevin Giles, showcasing a lethal combination of aggression and technical ability. And now he enters this bout off the back of a win against Stephen Thompson.
Brown (20-6) has quietly built one of the more underrated résumés in the UFC’s welterweight division. Since entering through Dana White’s Lookin’ for a Fight in 2016, the Jamaican-American has faced a who’s-who of talented strikers and grapplers.

Gabriel Bonfim vs Randy Brown: Analysis
Bonfim is entering his athletic prime and brings a suffocating grappling style, chaining submissions seamlessly while maintaining relentless forward pressure. He’s particularly dangerous when opponents retreat toward the fence where he can mix body shots into clinch entries, drag fights to the mat, and wrap up a choke before opponents can react.
Brown’s biggest strengths lie in his length, composure, and adaptability. He manages distance well with a sharp jab, long teeps, and a sneaky right cross that punishes overly aggressive opponents. On the mat he’s underrated, possessing a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and an effective submission game from top control.
However, Brown’s issue has been defensive lapses and slow starts. Against high-pressure fighters, he’s been hurt early and forced to recover mid-fight.Bonfim does have a tendency to overcommit, leaving himself open to counters and exposing his chin. This is a weakness someone as long and accurate as Brown could exploit.
Bonfim vs Brown: Prediction & Betting Tips
I expect Bonfim to come out aggressively, hunting the neck or throwing big overhands. If Brown can weather the first five minutes and use his jab to control range, momentum may shift dramatically.
Brown’s composure and experience in three-round wars give him a durability edge, especially given this is a five-round fight. Brown is a weird fighter to gage, a little bit like Kevin Holland in some ways.
Bonfim is without a doubt one of the top prospects in the UFC right now. But, he’s facing a tricky and lengthy puzzle in the form of the veteran “Rude Boy” Brown.
I am willing to take a chance on Randy Brown to win inside the distance at odds of 3.75 (Sky Bet) as I just believe he can use his awkward reach and long striking techniques to keep Bonfim at bay. At some point, I expect Brown to connect with a big knee or elbow.
