UFC Coach Jacob Brennan Arrested For Alleged Child Sexual Abuse

Jacob Brennan, the husband and head coach of UFC fighter Hailey Cowan, has been arrested following allegations of sexual misconduct with a minor.

According to reports, the 40-year-old was arrested on May 19 in Texas. This was on counts of indecency with a child via sexual contact and a second-degree felony. The victim, who is now an adult, told the authorities that Brennan had inappropriately touched her when he was her coach between 2013-2015. She was 13 at the time of the alleged incident, making Brennan 30.

Accusations Against Brennan

The woman claims, “Brennan kissed her hundreds of times and touched her vagina above and below her clothes hundreds of times between 2013 and 2015.” It is alleged the coach “was concerned with getting caught and would stop touching her if he heard noises in the gym or believed someone was nearby.”

The affidavit states the woman showed the authorities FaceBook messages from Brennan in 2014, which were damning.

On June 3, 2014 – Brennan “I have been awake for hours straight and I’m just laying here and all I can think about is you,” the affidavit states.

On June 7, 2014 – Brennan: “Goodnight, beautiful!! I love you too so much!! See you at 10 a.m.,”

On June 9, 2014 – Brennan: “I’m drawing a blank. Why do you want to bite my neck? OK have sweet dreams!! I love you! See you soon!!”

Cowan’s Future

Brennan has a $75,000 bond. He could face anything from two to 20 years in jail if he is guilty. It will also be a massive blow for Hailey Cowan, who lost her first UFC fight against Jamey-Lyn Horth last year. Her MMA record is 7-3. She was meant to fight at UFC Fight Night 220. But she withdrew after an ovarian cyst rupture.

That caused her to lose a lot of blood, and it was untimely since it happened close to the time of the weigh-in. Cowan was given a UFC contract when she won a submission against Claudia Leite via Dana White’s Contender Series. Based on her prior comments, Cowan is ready to make a new for herself. But she faces tough decisions inside and outside the Octagon.

“I think it took me too long to get here,” Cowan told UFC.com. I would have liked for it to be faster, but it worked out perfectly. [And] I had a couple of losses that forced me to branch out and start training with other girls and really look at my game, and dissect it, and find out where I needed to improve, what were my strengths and weaknesses.

“Just understanding discipline, understanding dedication, understanding that time and how important it is to show up every day with intensity and with urgency, it kind of helped me develop pretty fast.I want them to know that I’m ready,” she said. “I know that’s been a big question mark. Seven and two, that’s not a whole lot of fights. I want to get out of the cage, regardless of what happens, and everyone to be like, ‘She belongs here,” Cowan stated
