UFC Betting Preview: Sean Brady Seeks Second Straight Win over Former Title Challenger

Sean Brady looked like a potential UFC welterweight championship contender when he fought Belal Muhammad at UFC 280 in a matchup between ranked contenders. But Brady quickly learned that his previous opponents hadn’t prepared him for the next level.
Muhammad, who hadn’t knocked anyone out in six years, planted Brady in the second round. While the MMAfighting latest news shows that Brady has bounced back with a win over former title challenge Kelvin Gastelum there are still plenty of questions about his chin. When Brady fights Gilbert Burns on Saturday at the Apex, it will be a chance to answer some of those concerns.
Burns, 38, also needs to prove some things to himself. He hasn’t had a good run of results. He was knocked out in his last fight and has won consecutive fights against Muhammad, the current champion and top contender Jack Della Maddalena.
This fight could go either way. Burns is an excellent grappler and could control Brady on the ground. Brady is also a well-rounded fighter. One of these guys will find a way to earn a stoppage.
Bets consider: Under 4.5 rounds
Natalia Silva Ready to Take on Legend

Natalia Silva has been one of the hottest prospects in the strawweight division. Since Silva debuted in June 2022, she has strung together five fights in the UFC, including a pair of knockout wins. Most impressive is that Silva has picked up wins over solid veterans like Jasmine Jasudavicius, Andrea Lee, and Viviane Araújo.
But the next boss up on the pyramid won’t be so easy for Silva, who is 17-5-1 in her career. According to MMA breaking news, Silva must take on former strawweight champion Jessica Andrade this weekend. While Andrade is only 32, her experience makes her seem much older.
Andrade has fought 38 times professionally and has the UFC record for most finishes in the strawweight division with nine. It looked like her time with the promotion may be ending in 2023 when she lost three straight fights. She has since bounced back by beating Mackenzie Dern and Marina Rodriguez.
Andrade has fought a lot of top competition. While Silva may be on her way up the ranks, the price makes it worth taking a shot at winning the fight.
Bets to consider: Under 2.5 rounds (+140), Andrade +225, Andrade by KO/TKO/DQ
Garcia and Nelson Ready for Wild Fight
Steve Garcia has been planting many of his recent opponents on their backsides. During Garcia’s last four fights, he has produced four consecutive knockouts. Garcia is more than willing to engage in wild firefights.
Three of Garcia’s last five fights have ended in the first round. Garcia’s next challenge will be a battle with Kyle Nelson. Nelson is on a four-fight unbeaten streak. He has rattled off three straight wins but will need to be on his guard against Garcia. Nelson has been knocked out twice in his career, and Garcia always wants to find a way to earn a stoppage.
Bets to consider: Garcia by KO/TKO/DQ, Under 1.5 rounds
Is Matt Schnell’s Chin Shot?

Matt Schnell took nearly two years off after a brutal knockout loss to Matheus Nicolau in December 2022. When Schnell returned, things didn’t improve for the Louisiana-based fighter. He was knocked out early in the second round by Steve Erceg during his return last March.
It’s kind of surprising that he is willing to make such a quick turnaround to fight Alessandro Costa. Schnell has been knocked out five times in his career. Costa is a prospect, according to MMA breaking news, who has found a way to finish a lot of fights. Costa has five knockouts and has been knocked out twice.
Expect this fight not to see the scorecards.
Bets to consider: Under 1.5 rounds, Costa by KO/TKO/DQ
Peek Ready For Another Wild Fight
Trevor Peek can best be described as being an unorthodox fighter. Peek throws out wild strikes and does reckless things to try and catch his opponents off guard and entertain fans. One thing that Peek still needs to do since he made the UFC roster is provide many knockouts.
Peek’s last three fights have gone to a decision since he knocked out Erick Gonzalez during his UFC debut. It’s hard to trust Peek because if he doesn’t knock out his opponent, he doesn’t have the training to win a technical fight.
Yanal Ashmouz will be Peek’s opponent. Ashmouz is 1-1 in the UFC and seems like a more standard fighter.
Bets to consider: Ashmouz ML, Over 1.5 rounds
Spann, OSP Finally Set to Meet
Ovince Saint Preux is still taking on new challenges at 41. While OSP has gone between light heavyweight and heavyweight, he has decided to stick at light heavyweight as he winds down his career. OSP has lost three of his past five fights but is coming off a split-decision win over Kennedy Nzechukwu.
Previously, OSP was booked to fight Ryan Spann, but the bout fell through. But Spann is desperate for a big win following a three-fight losing streak. Spann hopes to turn things around quickly following a knockout loss to Bogdan Guskov last April.
Spann has the power to test OSP’s chin. OSP has lost five times via knockout in his career. Spann has been knocked out four times himself and has a grappling game that can match OSP.
Expect this one to be one that won’t reach the scorecards.
Bets to consider: Under 2.5 rounds, Spann ITD
Here’s a look at the rest of the fights on the card not mentioned above:
