Tyson's Pay May Decrease If Paul Knocks Him Out

Carl Froch has revealed that Mike Tyson could get paid less if Jake Paul knocks him out.

Paul and Tyson will face off on July 20, live on Netflix. It has been announced as an eight-round fight. The two will use 14-ounce gloves and box in two-minute rounds. There has been a huge worry over the safety of the boxers. The three-decade age gap means Tyson will enter the bout was a 58-year-old man, against Paul who is a lot less younger at 28.

Tyson and Paul have rejected suggestions that the fight is scripted. Tyson has been training three times a day, including banning sex and weed. He has also been using hypnosis. Meanwhile, Paul has bulked up to 240 pounds to prepare himself for Tyson’s biggest shots. Tyson will earn a reported $30 million from the fight, in addition to any sponsorship deals. But it appears that he could earn less if he is knocked out.

Froch Reacts

“From what I’m hearing with the contracts, allegedly, he gets paid less if he wins in round one, Tyson, or if he gets a knockout he gets paid even less. There’s restrictions in his contract based on how he wins. I don’t know if it’s been confirmed, but I’ve read somewhere that there’s a clause in his contract that means he’s going to earn less money if he goes out there and destroys Jake Paul,” Froch said

There have been calls for the Paul vs. Tyson fight to be called off. According to In Touch Weekly magazine, Tyson suffered a medical emergency during a flight on May 26. It is claimed that he required medical assistance during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles. A witness alleged the plane was delayed for two hours as the boxer received medical attention. It is not clear if Tyson was taken off the plane, but it did raise mass concern.

Tyson’s Health

“Mike had some kind of medical emergency on the plane, and paramedics boarded. Before the paramedics arrived, the flight issued an announcement asking for a doctor — the message even came on everyone’s screens,” witness said

“He was in first class, but we were an exit row. They asked us to stay on the plane and landed so paramedics could enter. [The stewardess] said something like, “He’s a really important passenger so we wanna make sure he’s OK.” I knew it was him, but I just mouthed the words “Mike Tyson” and she nodded her head yes,” witness added

While that may have been the case, those worries have been downplayed  by Tyson’s team. They have reassured fans that Tyson is doing well, saying the incident was down to an ulcer.

“Thankfully Mr. Tyson is doing great. He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”

Paul has also reassured fans that the fight will go ahead.

“You love to make…[stuff] up before knowing the facts for clicks / likes. Nothing changed #PaulTyson,” Paul stated
