John Fury has slammed Eddie Hearn in light of his son Tyson Fury’s upcoming fight with Francis Ngannou.

The two will face each other in a crossover boxing event on July 29th, 2023, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The news split the boxing community. The majority of the fan base lamenting the absence of an undisputed fight with Oleksandr Usyk. So much so that even Eddie Hearn had a few choice words to say about the fight.

“The circus of a Fury vs. Ngannou fight, I’m sure it will do well but the problem is that it’s just not competitive at all. What you’re actually watching is two guys sort of [move around]. People keep trying to get soundbites from me having a go at Fury fight Ngannou, I don’t knock it because he’s getting [a lot] of money for an easy fight,” Hearn

However, John Fury did not take those comments lightly. This may have been on the basis that Hearn had been linked with making a fight between Ngannou and Anthony Joshua.

Although that may have been the case, the Matchroom Boxing promoter admitted that Joshua was not interested in making it happen.

And given that Hearn is known for making mega fights in Saudi, as shown by Joshua’s fight with Oleksandr Usyk, John Fury fired back at him since Hearn was not involved in the Ngannou bout.

“I’ve said it before, he’s a total utter idiot and the only thing wrong with him is jealousy because he’s not put it together. He did say he’s the only man that could make a fight happen in Saudi. How much egg has he got on his face today?,” The man’s not worth listening to and he doesn’t know what he’s talking about,” John Fury stated

Hearn and John Fury may not be on the best of terms, but Tyson Fury’s bout with Ngannou must deliver. Failure to put an entertaining performance will only alienate the fan base. And there is no getting away from that.
