Turki Alalshikh Wants Joshua Vs. Fury

Turki Alalshikh still wants to make Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua even if The Gypsy King loses to Oleksandr Uysk.

The two boxers face off for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world on February 17, 2024. Boxing has not had an undisputed champion since Lennox Lewis beat Evander Holyfield to take all the belts. A win for Usyk makes him undisputed in a second weight class following his achievements at 140. But even if that does happen, Alalshikh wants to see Fury vs Joshua.

Fury’s camp had made two 60-40 offers to get the fight over the line. Nothing materialized as both sides blamed each other for the breakdown in talks. The first offer was made before Fury faced Derek Chisora. Joshua’s camp claimed that tight deadlines meant it was never a realistic option. The same offer was made for last summer, but Joshua chose a different route. He faced Robert Helenius instead. Since then, Fury has ruled out a fight. But the rise of Saudi Arabia’s influence in boxing may change all that.

Joshua Vs. Fury

“We want to see Fury-Usyk and the result, and the rematch between Fury [and] Usyk. And after that, we want to see Tyson Fury against Ngannou, or the people want to see it. And we want to see, if Fury [wins], we want to see him against Joshua if Joshua [wins]. If Usyk [wins], maybe we have [a] chance to have the third fight. And even if Usyk [wins], the people still want to see Tyson against Joshua. This is what we want to deliver to the market. And we close a lot of things about this,” Turki Alalshikh said

Eddie Hearn has echoed those comments by urging Fury to get the win over Usyk. Joshua has already faced the Ukrainian twice, having lost both times, showing how tough it is to secure a win over the Ukrainian. Although that may be the case, Ben Davidson did state that he was confident in helping Joshua correct that loss.

Hearn Wants Joshua Vs. Fury

But a fight with Fury is arguably the biggest in Britain, and if Joshua does have Davidson in his corner for that, it adds another element of intrigue. Davidson was Fury’s trainer before he was let go for SugarHill Steward. Davidson has helped Joshua get back to big-time boxing, helping him to beat Otto Wallin in his last fight in an impressive fashion. And with so much at play, Hearn wanted to see Fury vs Joshua.

“February 17, look, Oleksandr Usyk, I love you, but Tyson Fury, you’ve got to win this fight. We’ve got to make it happen. Good luck to both. How exciting is it for boxing that we have this path and this plan for the biggest fights in this division,” Hearn stated

Boxing has shown that anything can happen, and it depends on whether Fury stays active. A win over Usyk may be enough for him to walk away. Find all the latest boxing news and MMA breaking updates on boxingnews.com.
