Topuria Promises McGregor A Funeral – ‘I’ll Straighten His Nose, Stomp On His Head’

UFC Featherweight Champion Ilia Topuria has warned Conor McGregor that there will be trouble if they ever cross paths.
His comments come after McGregor hit out at the champion during a live stream he was doing with the betting company Duelbits. McGregor brought up Topuria as he vowed to slap the Georgian if he ever saw him. He then informed Topuria that he would be at a BKFC event in Spain, urging him to come and approach him.
McGregor’s Issues
McGregor has not had a UFC fight since losing to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021. He broke his leg as he suffered his third defeat in his last four UFC fights. His June 29 fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 was called off after he withdrew with a broken toe.
Dana White has said that McGregor will fight early next year, but Chandler has moved on to rematch Charles Oliveira at UFC 309. Topuria is coming off the best win of his career when he knocked out Aleksandr Volkanovski at UFC 298 to win the title. He ended Volk’s four-year reign as the champion remained undefeated. It was also Volkanovski’s first stoppage defeat at the weight class.
Topuria will now take on BMF Champion Max Holloway at UFC 308. If he beats Holloway, he will solidify his position as one of the leading PPV stars in the sport. Topuria has previously spoken well about McGregor, stating that he wanted to model his success on him and become a global star. But when it came to their fighting skills, the Georgian warned McGregor that he would finish him if they ever met.
Topuria On McGregor
“[Forget] you, Conor. All day every day. He’s just not on my level, not at all. Otherwise, I’d gladly plant these knuckles in his brain to see if I could fix it and straighten his nose. He says when we meet – you won’t even look me in the eye…McChicken. On the 12th, he’ll be at an event in Spain while I’m on the frontlines, not as a spectator.
“I’ll be headlining an event. He’s been missing out on big time. So deal with it, McGregor. Conor, I’ll dance on your head. Conor’s problem is I’ll slap these nuts on his forehead, right here, and I’ll warm him up with this. Then I’ll throw him down and stomp on his head. See you around. Let’s hope we don’t run into McGregor here, or there’ll be a funeral,” Topuria said
Nevertheless, the chances of that fight happening are very slim. McGregor’s stream showed he was not focused on his fight preparation for next year. He was seen drinking his Forge Irish Stout beverage. The Irishman was also seen holding what appeared to be some marijuana as he smoked it live on the stream.
His behavior was also out of character, with suggestions that McGregor may have been drunk. While McGregor is in no desperate need to fight again due to his mass wealth, If he does return to the octagon, he will face a tough task to beat whoever is in front of him. This is especially true if he’s not keeping himself disciplined outside of the octagon.
