Tommy Fury To Face Darren Till On Jan 18 Misfits Card

Tommy Fury will box Darren Till on January 18 from Manchester on an MF & DAZN: X Series 20 Misfits card.
Fury will have his first boxing fight since 2023, when he defeated KSI in a controversial decision. The fight was initially scored as a majority decision, but the result was turned into a unanimous decision after suggestions that the scorecards were not added up properly. However, some in the boxing community felt that KSI had been robbed in a fight that was devoid of much action.
Fury Vs. Till
That victory over KSI followed Fury’s win over Jake Paul. He gave The Problem Child his first-ever defeat in the boxing ring, beating him via a split decision. After the KSI win, Fury had surgery on his right hand as he was out for some time. He has also been going through personal problems in his life. He recently announced that he is parting ways from his long time partner Molly Mae.
Fury has also reportedly turned down a $15 -$20 million offer from Jake Paul for a rematch for two more fights. One would have been in the boxing ring, whilst the other would have been in MMA. But during this period, Fury was also pictured training alongside UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall. Fury revealed that he is open to facing Paul in MMA, provided he gets enough experience.
As for Till, he recently made his boxing debut. He faced off against Mohammad Mutie in Dubai this year. The fight raised a lot of controversy after Mutie was unable to continue after suggestions he was injured following a series of rabbit punches to the head. Mutie indicated he could not continue. However, Till was declared the winner. A brawl then broke out, which Till later apologized for.
Till has not had a UFC fight since 2022, when he lost out to the current UFC Middleweight Champion, Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 282. That was his third defeat in a row, as he walked away from the sport. But now he has found himself with an opportunity to earn a big purse on a Misfits event. Both fighters were looking forward to this upcoming bout.
Reaction
“It feels great to, finally, say that I am back! I have been out of the ring far too long, I’ve been getting itchy knuckles, and so I am thrilled to be able to announce my return. This is extra special as I am the A-side and headlining a massive event in my hometown and in front of my fans, at Co-op Live. Till had a good UFC career but he’s stepping into the boxing ring now, against a proper pro, and he will quickly realise that he is out of his depth, and this is not the game for him. I plan on dealing with Till in conclusive fashion and then chasing even bigger fights in 2025,” Tommy Fury
“January 18 is my time, my night,” Darren Till
“Fury vs. Till is an absolute Misfits Boxing blockbuster. On January 18, at the brilliant new Co-op Live, it is Manchester vs. Liverpool – and it’s going to be electric. Fury knows victory sets himself up for a giant year but Till steps into the Misfits Boxing ring for the very first time, straining at the leash and ready to take a giant scalp. We expect an incredibly red-hot atmosphere in the arena with a big undercard to be announced shortly,” Kalle Sauerland (Co-President of Misfits Boxing)
