Tommy Fury And KSI Are In Talks Over A Rematch
Tommy Fury and KSI are reportedly in talks over a rematch.
The pair faced off in their clash last year, which ended in a controversial majority decision win for Fury. KSI buckled Fury in the first round, after which the pair had a very lowkey fight with very little action in their sixth-rounder. Fury got the decision on the scorecards, but it was controversial, with some feeling that KSI had done enough to win.
“I thought he landed more shots, pushed the pace more and boxed better… Tommy has been brought up and boxing’s been his life. For KSI to go in there and do six competitive rounds with this guy, in a fight a lot of people thought he won, it’s a huge thing. “He shouldn’t be embarrassed or ashamed. There should be a rematch,” Chris Eubank Jr. said
Fury Vs. KSI
KSI would subsequently appeal the decision, but the result was turned into a unanimous decision win for Fury after claims that the scorecards were not added up correctly. He then bounced back with a controversial victory against Joe Fournier after stopping him with what appeared to be his elbow. However, Fury has not been in the boxing ring since then. He underwent surgery on his hand. Fury has reportedly turned down an offer to appear on the television show ‘I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.’ This was because talks over a rematch with KSI are now taking place.
Fury has other options too. He has also been offered a chance to face Jake Paul in a lucrative rematch. According to reports, Paul offered him somewhere between $15-$20 million over a two-fight deal. One fight would involve a rematch in boxing, while the other would be in MMA in the PFL. The offer was not taken up as Paul moved to face Mike Perry, stopping him in the sixth round.
The Problem Child will face Mike Tyson on November 15 in Netflix’s first-ever boxing fight. However, Fury appears to have had a change of heart over the MMA fight. He has been pictured training alongside UFC interim Champion Tom Aspinall. During their training together, Fury revealed he would be open to facing Paul in MMA, provided he had sufficient training.
Other Options
“Jake Paul’s in the PFL isn’t he? I’m going to smash his face in when I get better at MMA. I’ll beat him in boxing, and in the cage. [He’s] a big useless prick. I reckon a year-and-a-half to two years of training until I’ll beat him in a fight. It’ll be no problem in the cage. He’s got the funds, he’s got the best trainers in the world, he’s got the best sparring in the world. So, he’s doing all right. But he’s no match for me. I swear to you, next time I fight him, I’ll knock him out. In MMA, I just want to give him a big fat [knee], all elbows. No fists,” Fury said
That has left Tommy with numerous options. But if the KSI rematch does happen, he will want to ensure that he comes out with a decisive win this time.
