Tim Bradley Advises Spence On The Keys To Victory Over Crawford

Tim Bradley has advised Errol Spence Jr. to lower his punch output in order to beat Terence Crawford

Such a claim may seem counterproductive, given that Spence is known for his work rate from the beginning of the fight.

The ‘Truth’s victory over Mikey Garcia was testament to that, as he pummeled the Mexican for 12 rounds.

Meanwhile, Crawford’s ability to switch stances at any given point may throw off Spence from the off.

But given that Crawford becomes stronger later down the stretch, Bradley has advised Spence to be more patient.

“Patience. I say that because Crawford is a prolific counterpunch, and if you make a mistake, he’s going to make you pay,” Bradley

One way Spence could benefit from such advice is to witness Crawford’s fight against Shawn Porter

The latter was ahead on the scorecards as he closed the distance and targeted Crawford on the inside.

However, once Crawford became aware that he was behind, the WBO welterweight champion stepped on the gas to stop Porter in the following round.

And that ability to change tactics quickly is something that Bradley has warned Spence about.

“He’s adaptable as well, which makes him even more dangerous because he’s versatile,” Bradley continued fawning over Crawford.

“It’s not even about the southpaw and switching and all of that. It’s not even about that. It’s about this [Crawford’s brains]. He can turn it on,” Bradley

With a fight that could go either way, both men know that their legacy is on the line. The winner will become the first undisputed welterweight champion in the four belt era.

This is something that even Floyd Mayweather Jr. did not have the opportunity to achieve. Moreover, the victor will go down as the greatest welterweight of their era.

And on top of that, both fighters will be risking their unbeaten records. The winner will most likely move up from welterweight with further champions waiting at junior middleweight and beyond.

With that being said, the fight cannot come soon enough. So who will emerge victorious: ‘Bud’ or ‘The Truth?’ Time will tell.
