Keith Thurman and Tim Tszyu held their first presser for their March 30th, 2024, clash in their 155-pound non-title fight.
The announcement was out of the blue, with both fighters set to headline PBC’s first PPV on Amazon Prime Video. Thurman has been put as the A-side despite having only had one fight since 2019. He beat Mario Barrios in his last bout in 2022, while his only defeat has come against Manny Pacquaio. However, a combination of injuries and inactivity meant that the former Unified Welterweight Champion was not the same fighter he used to be.

Tszyu is going through the best phase of his career. He is the current WBO Junior Middleweight Champion, a belt he acquired after Jermell Charlo was stripped. They had agreed to fight since Tszyu was the interim champion, but Charlo withdrew because of an injury. After he recovered, Charlo chose to face Canelo Alvarez instead at 168 as Tszyu was elevated to a full champion.
