Terence Crawford Dismisses Spence’s Size

Terence Crawford has dismissed Errol Spence Jr.’s size as they get ready for their undisputed fight on July 29th, 2023.
Spence is the much bigger welterweight, although Crawford does have the reach advantage. That has led to the perception that Spence may be too big for Crawford, as the WBO champion faces off against the biggest-ever welterweight he has encountered.
However, ‘Bud’ drew parallels with Jeff Horn. The Australian, who has now retired, faced Terence Crawford for the second defense of his WBO title which he won from Manny Pacquiao.
Despite being the much bigger man, Crawford dominated the bout to the point where he got the stoppage.
And in the process, Crawford has defended the belt ever since by stopping all of his opponents at welterweight. And this time around Crawford sees no other difference.
“I don’t worry about it. Listen, when you talk about size, you talk about Jeff Horn. They said Jeff Horn was one of the biggest welterweights other than Spence.
“I’m always fighting bigger welterweights, so that’s nothing new. I’m always the smaller guy. Even when I was at 140, I was the smaller guy.
“You know, at ’35, I might was tall, but I was the smaller guy. So, being the smaller guy, you know, never made me think, ‘Oh, man, this guy’s too big.’ It’s cool. The bigger they is, the harder they fall,” Crawford
However, the champion may need to stop Spence to secure the victory. This was the view of Tim Bradley, who cautioned Crawford by stating that getting a decision may not be in his favor.
“Yeah, he’s going to have to knock. He’s going to have to knock out Spence, hurt him several times, and drop him. He’s going to have to, I feel, to be able to win on the scorecards in Vegas. It’s because Spence is the A-side here. We know that,” Bradley stated
But given that Spence has never been stopped, Crawford would have to do something no other fighter has done. So, can he do it?
