Striker’s Delight Set to Feature Magomedov against Page

Sharaputdin Magomedov has an idea in his head that he would like to be a champion in the UFC someday. But MMAfighting latest news shows that another opportunity he has recently been offered may give him more street cred than a belt could. Magomedov will face off against dangerous and unorthodox striker Michael Venom Page on the main card of a fight night on Feb. 1, 2025, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Magomed has a sparkling 15-0 record, though he hasn’t challenged the top tier of the promotion’s talent yet. A fight against MVP is a step in the right direction. MVP is a former interim title challenger in Bellator.

While MVP has only fought twice in the UFC, he has taken on two dangerous opponents in the middleweight division. MVP, 37, is inching closer to 40, but he is still willing to take on difficult fights. Expect both men to be prepared for whatever the other has to throw at them.

Shara Bullet Can be Appointment Viewing

Magomedov, 30, has an interesting look for a fighter. He has to learn that you can’t admire your work at the top level of competition. The opponents closer to the top of the rankings probably won’t put themselves in a position to be knocked out with one shot.

What MMA breaking news has shown so far is that Magomedov isn’t in bad shape if the fight has to go to the scorecards. Magomedov won two of his four fights in the UFC by decision. Magomedov has also made a living raking in bonus money. He got a performance of the night bonus after he knocked out Armen Petrosyan with a spinning backfist in his last fight. Magomedov was also rewarded with a fight of the night bonus for his battle with Michael Oleksiejczuk last August and a performance of the night bonus for his knockout win over Antonio Trocoli last June.

Magomedov has fought all four of his UFC fights in the Middle East. Magomedov has been working on building his brand as well. He was flown to Hollywood to form a role as a villain in an unannounced movie.

Magomedov has a unique look that should translate well to the silver screen.

MVP is Lightning in a Bottle

While the sport of MMA is supposed to be a mix of all the disciplines of combat sports, things have changed since the early days of the promotion. A lot more fighters work to be well-rounded with different skills. It’s rare to see an athlete take an unorthodox approach.

While MVP isn’t the first, or only fighter, to compete in a karate stance, his style is particularly audacious. MVP carries his hands low and darts in and out of striking exchanges. It’s a reckless style.

But it works for MVP. The best MMA news sites show that MVP has 13 wins by knockout during his career. While he never grabbed the belt in Bellator, he wasn’t a fighter many people wanted to take on. MVP will be in an interesting spot against Magomedov. He will likely attempt to fight the same type of fight he already has. However, Magomedov is just as good on his feet as MVP is. Any chances that he takes could be countered into an end-of-the-fight kind of shot.

UFC Has Found Home in Saudi Arabia

The UFC couldn’t be left on the outside looking in. Over the past two years, Saudi Arabia has become the center of heavyweight boxing. With interest in MMA and the PFL already doing some events there, the UFC was also eager to get involved.

The UFC found out that staging shows in Saudi Arabia wasn’t going to be the same as in their home base in the United States. If a card wasn’t up to snuff, the Saudis would let them know about it. The UFC was initially supposed to hold an event in Saudi Arabia last month but had to hold off their debut because the Saudis wanted to see better talent available to fight.

The UFC ultimately held its first event in Riyadh last June. It was an entertaining fight card that saw Robert Whittaker score an exciting knockout in the main event against Ikram Alisekerov. The Saudis are hoping that Magomedov and MVP will continue their streak of having excellent fight cards. The UFC wants this relationship to last a long time.

Who Else Will Fight on Fight Night?

This event won’t lack star power. Many people expect the main event of this card to be a fight between former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and Nassourdine Imavov. Adesanya will be in a rare spot in his recent UFC career.

This will be the first time there won’t be a championship belt on the line for him in five years. Imavov is an up-and-coming French fighter who would like to use Adesanya’s name to position himself for a run at the top. That will be easier said than done. Adesanya is an excellent striker who will be motivated to get back in the win column. Another rumored bout is set to take place between Ikram Aliskerov and André Muniz. Aliskerov was a fighter who everyone thought was ready for the big stage.

However, Aliskerov was flattened in the main event by Whittaker in Riyadh in 2024. Aliskerov will have to restore some of the fear of his reputation during this fight card.
