Snoop Dogg Meets Usyk, Gives Him Some Major Bling
Snoop Dogg visited Oleksandr Usyk on the set of ‘The Smashing Machine.’
The film stars Dwayne Johnson as ex-UFC and PRIDE fighter Mark Kerr. During a successful career, Kerr became a Pride FC Heavyweight Champion and a two-time UFC Heavyweight Tournament Champion. The project centers around the fighter’s addiction to painkillers and narcotics. Usyk will join the franchise after recently becoming the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion.
He defeated Tyson Fury via a split decision to become the first Undisputed Heavyweight Champion since Lennox Lewis. Now, Usyk will turn to acting as Igor ‘Ice Cold’ Vovchanchyn, a Ukrainian kickboxer. His scene will focus on Kerr and Vovchanchyn’s fight at PRIDE 7 in Yokohama, Japan. Filming for the movie has already begun, as Snoop Dogg dropped by. The following picture shows the rapper giving Usyk a chain.

Usyk’s stock has been growing ever since the win. Before the Fury fight, he was not seen as a big draw. A big part of that was his lack of English. However, since then, the Ukrainian has improved his speaking skills. He has also backed it up in the ring, beating Fury and Anthony Joshua, the two best heavyweights of this era. Johnson was honoured to be starring alongside him.

Usyk will play the role of Igor Vovchanchyn – the real life Ukrainian MMA legend who had legendary fights during the extreme no holds barred era of Mixed Martial Arts and one historic fight against the Smashing Machine himself, Mark Kerr. I have huge respect for Oleksandr Usyk and [it] will be my honor to share the ring with him – as he knocks my jaw into next week. Looking forward to working with you my brother,” Johnson said
Nevertheless, there are some worries that Usyk could become distracted. Fury is already back in the gym, as he seeks to avenge the loss. There is also a danger that Usyk hurts himself on set. Johnson had already done that when he was undertaking training in the role. The following clip demonstrates him showing huge swelling on his elbow.
“As you guys know, I’m filming a movie called The Smashing Machine and anytime your film is called The Smashing Machine, well, you’re kind of going to get smashed up. Look at that sucker right there. It looks like I have a cantaloupe in the bottom of my elbow. I got banged up pretty good today in our scenes, and there might be some soft tissue damage in there.
“The pain feels pretty good, but all good. It is what it is until it isn’t. I remember my old man used to say, god rest his soul, ‘The Soulman’ — he was an old-school pro wrestler, old-school bodybuilder — he always used to say, ‘A day without pain is like a day without sunshine, boy,” Johnson said
