Smith Dismisses Eubank Jr’s Decision To Hire Bomac

Liam Smith has shut down Chris Eubank Jr.’s chances of winning in their rematch, despite the latter hiring Brian McIntyre (Bo Mac) as his trainer.

Following the departure of Roy Jones Jr, Eubank resorted to getting Terence Crawford’s trainer.

After all, Bomac is in demand after Crawford’s incredible display in which he stopped Errol Spence in the ninth-round.

And that may be vital if Eubank wants to avenge his fourth-round loss to Smith that occurred in the first fight.

But in order to do this, Eubank will have to alter his game and trust in a trainer’s new methods. And yet, Smith questioned whether Eubank could take on board Bomac’s philosophy.

Smith On Eubank

“Again just Chris being Chris. Looking for the names. If Crawford didn’t win at the weekend would he probably still have chosen BoMac?

“Maybe not He can have the best coaches in the world, the best fighters in the world in his corner, I don’t feel like it makes a difference.

“I’m interested myself, to be honest, as much as you are and a lot of other people are to see what Chris can come with differently than he came with last time,” Smith

Nevertheless, Eubank ultimately had to make a decision. The collaboration with Roy Jones was not working, as many questioned his decision to box and move, rather than be the pressure fighter that he was known for being.

And at a time where it is tough to change boxing fundamentals in the latter parts of one’s career, utilizing the fighters strengths will be crucial.

However, for Smith, he saw another defeat for Eubank.

“If he comes to have a fight with me, he’s there to be caught. He knows full well I can hurt him in a heartbeat really. If he tries to box me – he boxed me last time, he makes too many mistakes. I look at Chris and when I strip everything down, whatever way he comes, I don’t think he beats me,” Smith
