Six Seconds or Less: Ruben Warr Produces Historic Knockout at BKFC Fight Night Pechanga

Ruben Warr was full of hyperbole during his post-fight interview Friday night at the Temecula Resort Casino in California. But with how Warr performed in the main event, it was hard not to give him a little leeway to his exuberance. Warr knocked out UFC veteran Robbie Peralta in six seconds, which was the third-fastest knockout in the promotion’s history.
Warr claimed it was a warning to the rest of the lightweight division. He made it clear that he was willing to fight anyone. Online boxing news will show that many of the top lightweight fighters may want to think twice before fighting him.
“You can run, but you can’t hide,” Warr said. “Line ‘em up, baby. I don’t care about the opponent. I sign my contract without looking at it.”
It was a tough loss for Peralta, who has proven to be a solid competitor in BKFC. Peralta is 3-2 and will have to reevaluate his approach to fighting. Warr may have to prove himself again before getting a matchup with the ranked fighter he wants to see. He is just 2-1 in the promotion, but this result will open the eyes of the fanbase.
Fernando Gonzalez Earns First BKFC Win
Fernando Gonzalez didn’t have the debut in the BKFC that he would have liked to have. But the most important thing for Gonzalez was learning how to handle difficult situations in the future. Gonzalez’s second fight in the BKFC wasn’t any easier than his first.
The debuting Rodney Thomas had plenty in his skillset to make life difficult for Gonzalez. Thomas dug in and landed solid strikes, but it wasn’t enough to allow him to win a decision in his debut. Gonzalez is now in the win column for his bare-knuckle fighting career and would like to see that success grow as he gets more opportunities.
Feature Bout Divides Judges’ Opinions
Victor Rosas and Luis Iniguez had a lot of eyes on their light heavyweight fight. Many fans and the promotion believed it was a bout that could produce a spectacular result. What happened after the opening bell rang was a nip-and-tuck affair, with neither man being able to land the finishing blow.
It was difficult to determine, as the fight went back and forth, which fighter had the lead. It left the three judges puzzled as well. Two ended up scoring the fight for Rosas. One judge gave Iniguez the victory with a 48-47 win on the scorecard.
Christensen Rallies for Victory

Jordan Christensen was in a less-than-ideal situation during the first round of his fight with Riley Pellegrino. During the first round, Pellegrino sent Christenen to the ground. For a fighter like Christensen, who has had plenty of growing pains in BKFC, this was a spot where things could have gone poorly for him.
But Pellegrino wasn’t able to build off that momentum. When Christensen, who improved to 3-4 in the BKFC with the win, got back up, he put the pressure on his opponent. Pellegrino looked like a fighter who was making his debut in the promotion.
Christensen utilized that lack of experience against Pellegrino. He landed a lot of heavy strikes throughout the second round. At the end of the second round, the fight was stopped, giving Christensen a TKO victory.
Villasenor Hit Him Until He Stayed Down
Luis Villasenor didn’t let Brett Fields build any confidence. Any time Fields attempted to build momentum, Villasenor sent him crashing back down to the ground. The latest trending boxing news shows that Villasenor was eager to push the pace against Fields.
Villasenor ended up producing three knockdowns in 71 seconds during the first round before the fight was halted. It was Villasenor’s first victory in BKFC. Fields is now 1-2 in the promotion.
Flyweight Prospects Produce Wild Affair

Alexander Guiterrez and Zay Garcia both looked to impress during their debut in the BKFC. For the most part, the mission was accomplished. Both fighters fought at a ferocious pace.
As is often the case with lower weight classes, both fighters were able to put out a lot of volume. When it came down to it, the judges were in agreement that Guiterrez had done more than enough to grab a victory. Two judges backed Guiterrez with a score of 49-46, while the other judge scored it 50-45.
Redfern Battles Adversity
One of the dangers of bare-knuckle fighting is that fighters’ fingers are held back by their gloves, like in traditional gloved boxing. There are many dangers that getting eye poked can present. Obviously, this can cause problems medically.
But it also can change the direction of a fight if vision is temporarily blurred. Squire Redfern was on the wrong end of an eye poke against Richard Brooks Friday. But that didn’t prevent Redfern from continuing battling during a five-round war.
Redfern, who was also dropped to the canvas by a knockdown, rallied for an impressive performance in the fifth round. Redfern landed a combination that stopped Brooks in his tracks and gave him a victory 53 seconds into the final round.
Van Vo Picks Up a Quick Check
Van Vo finally had an opportunity to celebrate a victory under the BKFC banner. During Vo’s career, he had opened things up by taking three consecutive defeats. Dan Pettit ended up being Vo’s first victim in the promotion.
Vo surged forward from the opening ball and made life difficult on Pettit. He ended up landing a punch 57 seconds into the first that produced a knockout and allowed him to earn his first win in spectacular fashion.
Here are the other fights on the card not mentioned above:
- Joe White win by KO over Caleb Avila, Round 3 1:04
- Mike Hansen win by TKO over Anthony Yost, Round 1 1:46
