Ryan Garcia Slams Eddie Hearn – ‘You’re A Fake Phony’

Ryan Garcia has hit out at Eddie Hearn for his comments at him with regards to the Devin Haney fight. 

Garcia defeated Haney via a majority decision in one of the biggest upsets in boxing. He dropped Haney three times on his way to victory. However, the fight was turned into a no contest after Garcia failed VADA tests for Ostarine. He received a one-year ban and, as a result, was turned into a no-contest.

Garcia maintained that the level in his system was not enough to enhance performance. He also argued that he would beat Garcia if things were on an even playing field. That resulted in a sour relationship between all sides involved. Haney sued Garcia and Golden Boy Promotions. Hearn did say that Garcia was not in the best shape. He also argued that Garcia did not appear to have the right mindset.

Garcia vs. Hearn

Ryan has hit back at those comments, stating that it was not possible for him to go 12 rounds unless he was in capable condition. He also hit out at Hearn for his recent attitude towards Haney. Haney attended the Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois fight, where he was seen having a verbal confrontation with Hearn. 

The confrontation was regarding Haney’s demand for tickets for the fight. Hearn recalled how Haney had texted him. But the Matchroom Boxing promoter revealed that he could not provide him with the tickets. Hearn had allocated them to other fighters. Hearn told Haney to ask Riyadh Season to see if they could help out . Devin did not give a response after which he took his anger out on Hearn during the fight at ringside.

There is a perception that Haney’s commercial value has been damaged as Hearn has signed many other fighters. He has the IBF Welterweight Champion Jaron Ennis. He also recently signed Shakur Stevenson, the WBC Lightweight Champion. There is a perception that Hearn may turn his focus away from Haney since he has not officially signed the fighter.

Garcia Reacts

While he does work closely with Haney, there is no incentive for Hearn to put his full force behind Haney, who faces a battle to rebuild his reputation. Despite being undefeated, boxing fans have become divided over how he has approached Garcia’s situation. Ryan also hit our Hearn, as he was not impressed by his comments.

“If you’re really cracked out on drugs, how can you fight in front of millions of people and fight for 12 rounds? These people are stupid. I wish I could see Eddie Hearn and say, ‘Are you stupid? Your fighter didn’t fight good, and he wasn’t even your fighter at the time. Then when he got beat, you turned your back on him. You’re a fake phony…Eddie Hearn. Forget you, Eddie Hearn, for trying to create this narrative that I was cracked out before the fight. You’re just an idiot. It’s a curse on him because you were trying to lie on me so many times. Now look at your promotion,” Garcia said
