Ryan Garcia Eyes BKFC Fight With Conor McGregor - 'It’s A Very Big Possibility'

Ryan Garcia wants a BKFC fight with Conor McGregor while promising to stop Sean O’Malley

Garcia’s career has suffered a major setback since his positive test for Ostarine. He received a year ban, meaning his Devin Haney win became a no-contest. McGregor responded to the failed test by calling for Garcia to get a lifetime ban. He also referred to him as a ‘juice head,’ as he offered to stage a sparring session between Ryan and O’Malley, who also failed for Ostarine in 2019.

Garcia’s Next Fight

Since then, Garcia has been linked with an exhibition fight in Japan. He attended Manny Pacquiao’s exhibition against Rukiya Anpo at Super RIZIN 3 last weekend. The three-rounder went the distance, but Pacman no longer looked the same fighter. After the fight, Garcia said he wanted to face the best in Japan. McGregor and O’Malley were the names mentioned.

“I would fight — what’s his name? Sean O’Malley? ‘Suga’ Sean O’Malley? [And] Conor McGregor in bare-knuckle. But yes, it’s a very big possibility. I know how to wrestle, I know how to do a lot of things that people don’t know. So yeah, I would do it. I would knock out Suga Sean O’Malley’s rainbow hair off his head [in MMA],” Garcia said

Ryan also turned his attention towards a fight with Manny. The Filipino has been linked with a return against WBC Welterweight Champion Mario Barrios. However, Pacman’s performance did not help his cause, as the 45-year-old was outclassed in the three rounds. Garcia is younger and more powerful than Manny, making this a risky fight. Pacquiao is also an eight-division champion, meaning he has nothing else left to prove in the sport. There have been worries over boxers returning to the sport after a long time out.

Garcia Vs. Pacquiao

Evander Holyfield made a comeback at 58 against Victor Belfort. That ended on bad terms, as Holyfield was stopped in the first round. Before the stoppage, he received a sustained amount of punishment. His reaction times were also much slower, as the boxer was out of sorts. Meanwhile, Mike Tyson’s return to face Jake Paul has also raised concerns.

The fight was meant to take place on July 20. However, Tyson pulled out due to an inflamed ulcer. The fight has been rescheduled for November 20, but some fans are still unhappy. Tyson is 58, while Paul is 27, making it a potentially dangerous bout. But Garcia was keen on testing himself against an all-time great.

“I don’t even know who [Anpo] is, but I mention his name because he definitely was trying to knock out Manny Pacquiao and that kinda pissed me off. So now I want to knock him out. [And] I would love to fight Manny Pacquiao — in a real fight, though, 12 rounds. [And] I wouldn’t do an exhibition at all. I would want to do a real fight, old lion versus young lion.

“Seeing this event has really inspired me to want to come here and knock somebody out in front of the Japanese fans. Mayweather did it, but I’d do it way better. I’m a young lion. I’m a guy in his prime, and there’s a difference,” Garcia stated
