Ryan Garcia Denies Being Removed From The Diaz-Masvidal Fight
Ryan Garcia was thrown out during the Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal after an altercation with some fans.
Garcia was present at the arena as Diaz beat Masvidal to avenge his UFC 244 loss in 2019. On that occasion, Masvidal defeated Diaz to become the inaugural BMF Champion. Ryan was present at the arena to watch his brother, Sean Garcia, take on Amado Vargas. Sean was stopped in the sixth round, as Vargas took his record to 11-0 with five stoppages. It was Sean’s first loss, while Vargas looked to bigger and better things.
“It’s been a long camp. I was ready for this moment. They can say I’m the little brother, but I just kept working to let them know. We’re here. The Vargas dynasty is here to stay. I’ve always been unorthodox, but when I crack people, they feel it. I’m not green anymore; I’m a skillful fighter who knows how to think in the ring. All the sacrifice paid off in the ring tonight,” Vargas
“I was just trying to get him out of there. In the end, my game plan basically went away; I was trying to cause damage. It was a good fight like I expected. “I don’t think I gassed out, but he broke me down. It was my first time going past four rounds, so you need these sports experiences. He was the better man tonight,” Garcia
Garcia’s Exit
Things got worse after reports that Garcia had verbal exchanges with fans, forcing security to throw him out. The following footage shows Garcia being taken away by security from the arena. While that may have been the case, Garcia denies being thrown out.
“I wasn’t escorted. I left. Not one hater in real life, and everyone was cool. Because, like I said, everyone knows my heart,” Garcia said
This is the second time Garcia has had issues at an arena recently. During his appearance at the Gervonta Davis vs. Frank Martin fight, Caleb Plant threw a beer at him while Ryan exited the arena. This was after Garcia had made disparaging comments about Plant’s wife, forcing Caleb to react. Plant’s wife is now suing Garcia.
Garcia’s Future
Meanwhile, Garcia has damaged his reputation further following his recent outburst on X. He made a series of disturbing racial slurs directed at Muslims, Christians and George Floyd, to name a few. Although the posts were deleted, Garcia was banned by the WBC. He later issued an apology for his actions, stating that he would enter rehab. His promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, also backed up those comments. But his behavior has divided the fanbase.
“I heard Ryan’s going to rehab. It’s a step in the right direction. I know Ryan. He is not a racist guy. He is not that.. I don’t know if it’s his drinking or him doing mushrooms or drugs. He seems good. I told him, ‘You’re suspended, but there’s other things you can do. I’ve always said I’m here for him,” De La Hoya said
