Pros React To Manel Kape’s TKO Of Asu Almabayev – ‘Give That Man A Title Shot’
MMA pros reacted to Manel Kape’s TKO of Asu Almabayev at UFC Vegas 103 in their flyweight clash.
Kape started on the offensive, landing combinations in succession. He continued to use his feints before landing a right hand that cut Almabaev over his left eye in the first round. The cut began to bleed, which was a major sign of crisis early on. Almabaev had no choice but to take more risks. He started to sit down on his punches as he found some success.
But Kape was unfazed as he returned fire with more shots to the cut. Almabayev was forced to go on the offensive. Kape closed the distance, unleashing numerous flurries in the third. Almabayev stumbled backwards as Kape had no answer for what was coming. The referee stopped the fight, giving Kape his second consecutive win. Almabayev felt he was hard done by, complaining that there was an eye poke. That was the sentiment on social media, too. But it was ultimately to no avail. Kape is now a step closer to facing either the flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja or Kai Kara-France, as they are expected to face off next.
