Pimblett Mocks McGregor’s Failed Bet – ‘What Happened, You Little Lizard?’

Paddy Pimblett mocked Conor McGregor after the latter had picked Michael Chandler to beat him at UFC 314.
Pimblett produced a career-best performance to stop Chandler in the third round, extending his undefeated record to 7-0. That was another big win following his victory against Bobby Green at UFC 304 in his last fight. Those wins have given Paddy plenty of options moving forward, including links with Charles Oliveira, Ilia Topuria, Islam Makhachev, and even McGregor.
Those names will take Pimblett a step closer to a title shot. Before the fight took place, McGregor said he was keeping an eye on the outcome of this fight, raising speculation he could face the winner. He had picked Chandler to stop Pimblett, even going so far as to put on a huge bet for the sum of $500,000.
“The fight I’m interested in, Michael Chandler vs Paddy Pimblett. I’m gonna go with Michael Chandler to win and win by KO. Although Paddy has improved in his last few outings, I still fancy Chandler to do it,” Chandler stated
Pimblett Vs. McGregor
McGregor has been chasing Chandler since their days as rival coaches on the TUF 31 series. Chandler came out victorious in the team challenge, while McGregor got his own back in the individual coach’s challenge. They were set to face off at UFC 303 last year. However, McGregor pulled out of the fight due to a broken toe. McGregor still has two fights left on his UFC deal, but it remains unclear if he will make a return to the sport.
Pimblett made it clear that he wants to face McGregor, going so far as to say that the fight would sell out at Liverpool Football Club’s Anfield stadium. It is a mega clash that has the potential to earn both fighters their highest paydays in the UFC. However, it is a risk for McGregor since his reputation is on the line.
There is a widespread perception that his days as a top-level MMA fighter are over.
Pimblett Reacts
He has consistently been seen pictured drinking, partying, and smoking cigars as doubts remain over his comeback. The Notorious has also hinted that his future may lie in politics after recently claiming that he wants to make a run for the Irish leadership. However, if McGregor does make a return, Pimblett is ready to take that fight.
“Oh yeah? He probably said he put a bet on Chandler by knockout. What happened Conor, eh? Should have mentioned him in the cage, you little lizard. I thought you would’ve backed your own, lad. Irish and Scouse. If you are coming back, lad, let’s do it. Wembley, Croke Park. I’m after you as well. You could get excited about that. You could do that at Wembley. Me and Conor sells Wembley out, sells Anfield out, sells Croke Park out. Anyone can get it,” Pimblett said
