Paro and Hitchins Trade Barbs In Heated Roundtable - 'He Is Unstable'

Liam Paro and Richardson Hitchins fired numerous verbal shots at each other during their roundtable face-off.

Paro enters the fight as the IBF Junior Welterweight Champion and the favorite. He secured the biggest win of his career by beating knockout artist Subriel Matias in his last fight. He secured a unanimous decision win to outbox one of the most dangerous punchers in the division. There was no rematch clause in place, showing how little faith there was from Matias’ camp that Paro could win. The Australian knows a win lines up a possible huge fight against fellow Australian George Kambosos next year.

Hitchins also has plenty to prove. He laboured to a unanimous decision win in his last fight against Gustavo Lemos. Some in the boxing community felt Lemos was robbed of a win. The punch output was close, with Richardson landing 172 punches compared to Lemos’ 161. But since Lemos was stopped by Keyshawn Davis in just the second round in his next fight, Hitchins’ performance has now come under more scrutiny. They had plenty to say during their sit-down interaction.

Roundtable

“I’m a great. I’m a true warrior. I will fight anyone, anywhere. I am not scared to face any challenge,” Paro

“Matias was tailor-made for him. He made mistakes obviously that he capitalized on and continued with the game plan,” Hitchins

“You see he is unstable. He is emotional on X. That’s where he has to try to sell to the people. But not just that but to himself. He has to tell himself that he has that X-factor. That’s all it is. That’s all we see is talk… None of your fights have proven what you say you are. On December 7, meet me in the middle of the ring,” Paro

Further Quotes

“You know what’s crazy, they keep talking about this Lemos fight. I don’t bring up you and Alamo, you got dropped maybe once or twice in that fight and had a split decision. I thought, if anything, a fighter was to get better after the split decision,” Hitchins

“So bring the same energy, like I said, meet me in the middle of the ring. Show the world that you’ve got this X-factor that you talk about. Show us the X-factor. You say all this and that, but none of your fights have shown that. None of your fights have shown that,” Paro

“When I hit you with this [punch], will you be able to take it? You better be able to take it. Because I know how to take a punch. I swear. If there’s anything I can do, I can surely take a punch,” Hitchins
