Paramount+ And The UFC’s Price Plan

Paramount+ will introduce a $59.99 annual fee that eliminates the need for PPV in the United States for UFC events.
The $59.99 price point is part of the UFC’s new broadcast deal with the UFC. For the cost of what was once just a single major fight night, subscribers gain total access to:
- All 13 Numbered Events: Every marquee championship card, starting with UFC 324 on January 24.
- All 30 Fight Nights: A full year of weekly events.
- The Vault: Complete access to historical archives and original series like The Ultimate Fighter and Dana White’s Contender Series.

While the $59.99 rate is currently available, the platform has confirmed a price hike scheduled for January 15, 2026.
- Before Jan 15: Lock in the annual Essential plan for $59.99.
- After Jan 15: The Essential annual tier will jump to $89.99.
Compared to the previous era of paying roughly $80 per monthly PPV, fans who switch to the flat annual fee will save over $1,000 annually. The new era officially kicks off at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on January 24 with UFC 324: Gaethje vs. Pimblett.
Implications

The primary benefit is the drastic reduction in cost for the average fan. A fan who previously could only afford two PPVs a year (spending ~$160) can now watch all 13 numbered events and 30 Fight Nights for nearly half that price. By removing the “secondary paywall,” the UFC is likely to attract a massive wave of casual viewers who were curious about the sport but unwilling to commit $80 to a single night of fights.
This could lead to a “Netflix effect” for the UFC. Accessing historical archives and original series like The Ultimate Fighter in the same app as live events simplifies the user experience. You no longer need to bounce between UFC Fight Pass for old fights and a separate provider for new ones.

By announcing a 50% price jump for the Essential plan (from $59.99 to $89.99) just two weeks into the new year, Paramount is creating a “ticking clock” for consumers. Transitioning a massive live-audience property to a new platform often comes with technical “growing pains.” Paramount+ will be tested by the sudden surge of millions of concurrent viewers for major title fights.
