Pacquiao Set For International Boxing Hall Of Fame Induction

Manny Pacquiao has will be inducted into the 2025 International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Pacquiao is considered one of the greatest fighters in the history of the sport, having won titles in eight weight classes. He served up thrilling fights for the boxing fans, taking on Juan Manuel Marquez in four bouts. He also secured huge victories against Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya and Miguel Cotto, to name a few. Manny retired in 2021 after coming up short against Yordenis Ugas.

He finished his career with a record of 68-2-2. Manny would ultimately come up short in the Floyd Mayweather fight in 2015, which was the biggest fight of his career. However, his legacy has continued to live on as Pacman is known for being one of the most offensive fighters ever. He was recently linked with a comeback to face Mario Barrios by the end of the year for the WBC Welterweight Title.

However, Barrios ended up facing Abel Ramos on the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson card. Manny had a three-round exhibition against Rukiya Anpo, a Japanese kickboxer, this year. The bout was seen as preparation for his eventual comeback against Barrios. Although there was no official result, Manny looked far from his best. He was outboxed for those three rounds, suggesting that Father Time had caught up with him. However, Pacquiao’s promoter Sean Gibbons has suggested that he could still make a comeback if the right fight comes along.

Pacquiao’s Legacy

“With Manny, he could be fighting until he’s 50. Manny didn’t look as good against Anpo because of a lot of things behind the scenes that went into it. He didn’t overly prepare for it. [And] he thought he was fighting someone else and it ended up being a bigger guy. He felt great. What else can you do? It was an exhibition. He was there just to move around.

“The other guy thought it was a real fight. He came to make a name off of Manny. I told Manny that the Barrios fight was the perfect fight to make. Things got in the way with certain people in his ear, but that fight is still possible. It could happen in June, July, or August – one last one,” Gibbons said

However, Pacman’s legacy is already set in stone, as he will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. The event is expected to occur next year from June 5-8. The Canastota at the Turning Stone Casino, New York, will host the event. Manny will join a list of other distinguished inductees.
