O’Malley Hates McGregor – ‘I Just Feel Pure Jealousy’
Sean O’Malley is no longer on good terms with Conor McGregor.
The pair are no longer on good terms following McGregor’s reaction towards Ryan Garcia’s failed VADA test for Ostarine. O’Malley happened to fail for the same substance in 2019, resulting in a six-month suspension. McGregor reminded O’Malley of the prior incident, saying he wanted Garcia to receive a lifetime ban.
Garcia ended up with a year ban, while McGregor referred to both as ‘juiceheads.’ The Irishman suggested that they both spar each other at his Black Forge Pub. Garcia was very vocal, saying that he was no longer on good terms with McGregor. O’Malley has now followed suit after previously having looked up to him.
O’Malley On McGregor
“You go back, all my interviews I’d say I wanna be like Conor. I wanna do what Conor did. Now I’m 29. I’ve defended the belt, something he’s never done by the way. I just feel pure jealousy from him. Right now, I’m not a huge fan of Conor. The stuff that he was saying on Twitter [X], the stuff that affected my life. He’s laughing at it and then he goes and deletes it because he’s on drugs…We’re not on great terms,” O’Malley said
O’Malley is currently focused on facing Merab Dvalishvili in his next fight at UFC 306 at The Sphere in Las Vegas. He makes the second defense of his UFC Bantamweight Title. He only has one loss in his career which he avenged by defeating Marlon Vera in his last fight at UFC 299. Meanwhile, Merab has ten wins on the bounce making him a dangerous threat. Dvalishvili secured a victory against Henry Cejudo in his last fight at UFC 298. Merab played a few mind games after sharing some footage of himself, showing he had been cut.
O’Malley’s Future
He eventually received stitches as he told fans he would be ok. The footage irked O’Malley who had doubts about whether Merab would go through with the fight. Meanwhile White could not understand why Merab would share the footage which O’Malley would see.
If O’Malley wins, he will likely face Umar Nurmagomedov. The Russian is 6-0 and the leading contender in the bantamweight division. However, UFC Featherweight Champion Ilia Topuria is open to facing O’Malley. The Georgian first takes on Max Holloway, the BMF Champion, at UFC 308. If Sean moves up, Illia has backed himself to beat Holloway/O’Malley in the same night.
“When he pronounce those kind of things like, ‘If I win,’ it’s because he’s not very confident about himself. First of all, he has a very tough matchup ahead. If he does it, why not? Why not? I would love to have that fight. It’s like, thank you God. For everyone it’s going to be so huge. Like, ‘Ilia is fighting Max or he’s fighting Sean O’Malley.’ But in reality, I know that they both suck, I can do with them whatever I want to do. I can do it with both of them. I can beat them both in the same night. No problem,” Topuria stated
