Ngannou’s Three Super Fights
Francis Ngannou knocked out Renan Ferreira in the first round on his PFL debut, and in an ideal world, there are plenty of super fights people want The Predator involved in.
Ngannou has long been linked with a fight against UFC Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones. Both fighters accused each other of ducking, while Dana White gave contradictory comments about it. During his time in the UFC, White questioned Jones’ desire to take the fight, with suggestions Jones wanted to go to middleweight rather than moving up to heavyweight. But once Ngannou left, the narrative changed. White is on record, stating that Ngannou never wanted the fight. This is something Ngannou has given his take on.
Ngannou Vs. Jones
“As far as I’m concerned, Jon Jones didn’t want to fight me according to them in so many times we sat down in meetings with them. “They were like, ‘Oh, it can’t happen. Jon Jones doesn’t want to fight anymore. He lives in Albuquerque, and he lives his small life and has a lot of money in his bank account.’ I think the guy that controls the narrative can say whatever he wants. That’s just the narrative. I was the one requesting the Jon Jones fight,” Ngannou revealed
White’s comments are understandable since he will want to back his man. Jones defends his UFC Heavyweight Title at UFC 309 on November 16 against Stipe Miocic. However, there is speculation that Jones will retire after the fight, leaving the chances of an Ngannou fight extremely slim. Another super fight would be Tom Aspinall. The UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion is considered the most in-form heavyweight.
He stopped Curtis Blaydes in his last bout at UFC 304 to solidify his position as the next in line for the winner of Jones-Miocic. Aspinall has repeatedly said that Jones is ducking him, as Bones even said a fight with Alex Pereira is much bigger. Aspinall recently questioned Ngannou’s level of opposition, stating that Ferreira is not a top heavyweight. He then addressed how a fight between him and The Predator would go down. He saw it as a genuine 50-50 fight, as he was less confident than his comments have shown in comparison to a Jones fight.
Other Dream Fights
There is also a dream fight with Alex Pereira. The Brazilian has teased a move up to heavyweight, as he could chase a historic third UFC title. He is currently a two-weight world champion, winning belts at middleweight and light heavyweight. Alex knocked out Khalil Roundtree Jr. in his last fight at UFC 307. He has indicated his desire to move up to heavyweight for a belt. Alex already rehydrates to around 230-40 pounds after making the 205-lb limit. Ngannou has praised Alex for his fighting style, showing there is respect for the Brazilian.
“He’s tough, he has some tough hands.” Francis Ngannou stated on Jake Paul’s podcast, when asked about his thoughts on UFC light-heavyweight champion Alex Pereira. I think you’re going to get some tough nights [against him in the future]. This guy is big, solid and he’s mean. He walks straight to you like, ‘I’m gonna eat this guy,” Ngannou said
These are three super fights. While they are unlikely, the introduction of the Saudis into combat sports could change that.
