Mike Tyson has backed Francis Ngannou ahead of his fight with Tyson Fury on October 28th, 2023.

Ngannou will be making his boxing debut against the WBC heavyweight champion of the world in a fight where he is the massive underdog.

However, in order to close that gap, Ngannou has hired the services of ‘Iron Mike.’ The latter will work as his trainer and be in the corner on Ngannou’s biggest fight.

After all, Tyson is a former undisputed heavyweight champion with plenty of experience on big fight nights. With that being said, Tyson is confident that Ngannou will perform.

“By working with him yesterday, he has the aptitude, and I see a good future in this life. It’s not going to be as one-sided as people think it is…We’re going to work and we’re going to exert everything he has for this particular match. I definitely believe that it’s going to be a tougher fight than anyone thinks,” Tyson

However, in reality, Ngannou will have to do something which no other MMA fighters have done.

Both Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz failed to pull off upsets during their respective bouts.

McGregor was stopped in the tenth round against Floyd Mayweather, while Diaz lost a unanimous decision to Jake Paul.

However, Ngannou is in a postion where he cannot lose. A loss does nothing to his career, given that this is the expection.

Meanwhile, the former UFC heavyweight champion will receive the biggest payday of his career.

“What I will tell you is that, compared to what I was making for my UFC fight, it’s day and night. It’s life changing. And it would be the same thing if I was fighting in the PFL first. What I was making, what I did make in my last [UFC] fight, doesn’t even count. It’s not close, anywhere close. Definitely yes [its the most]. One-hundred percent, yes. I didn’t make that much in my entire UFC career,” Ngannou
