Zabit Magomedsharipov injured, pulls out of Moscow grappling match

Former UFC featherweight Zabit Magomedsharipov has pulled out of his grappling match against Raul Rosas Jr. due to injury, according to Sherdog.

Magomedsharipov was scheduled to compete for the first time since 2019 at ACBJJ 21 on July 5 in Moscow. His brother, PFL fighter Khasan Magomedsharipov, will step in as a replacement on short notice. Khasan, who holds an 11-0 record, just submitted his opponent in the first round at PFL San Diego last week.

Zabit's career since leaving the UFC

The elder Magomedsharipov went 6-0 in the UFC and beat Calvin Kattar in his final octagon appearance. He walked away from the sport in 2020 while still undefeated in the promotion, citing health problems and a lack of available fights. He later enrolled in medical school.

Rosas Jr., who carries a 12-1 record, now faces Khasan instead at the Moscow grappling event this weekend.
