Medic Rips Garry Over Women Comments

Uros Medic dismissed Ian Machado Garry's suggestion that women should run the world, calling the welterweight title challenger's remarks misguided.

Garry told High Performance recently that civilization would improve if women held power. Medic, who fights Daniel Rodriguez at UFC Belgrade on Saturday, rejected that view when asked about the upcoming welterweight title fight between Garry and Islam Makhachev at UFC 330.

Medic's Take On Garry's Worldview

"Just because his woman is running his world, it doesn't mean that women should run all the world, because men built the world," Medic told MMA Fighting. "So if he wants to have his world ran by women, I have no problem with that. Just don't try to impose none of that on me."

Medic predicted a rough night for Garry against Makhachev, who defends the welterweight strap for the first time since taking it from Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 322 last November. The Dagestani champion has won 16 straight and holds four lightweight title defenses alongside his new belt.

"I think Islam Makhachev will finish Ian Garry in less than three rounds," Medic said. He called Garry a point-fighter who relies on movement and disputed decisions. UFC Belgrade takes place Saturday, with UFC 330 following two weeks later in Philadelphia.
