Mugshot Released After FBI Foils UFC White House Terror Plot
Authorities have released the first mugshot of a suspect arrested in connection with a foiled terror plot targeting last Sunday's UFC White House event in Washington, DC.
Tycen Proper, a 19-year-old from Danville, Ohio, is one of five suspects in custody after law enforcement stopped a planned attack on the Freedom 250 fight card, MMA Mania reports. Proper faces federal charges including conspiracy to commit an offense against the United States, attempted murder of a federal employee, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, and receipt or transfer of a firearm used to commit a felony.
Family Tip Led to Arrest, Weapons Cache Discovered
Police arrested Proper after his family reported that he was stockpiling weapons and ammunition before traveling to the event, according to court documents. Family members also flagged troubling social media activity that included antisemitic remarks and references to Hitler. Investigators identified Proper as part of a larger movement called Vanguard of the Old, which court filings describe as driven by ultra-religious and antigovernment beliefs focused on the handling of the Epstein files, data center water usage, and other perceived government overreach.
The conspiracy reportedly involved explosive-laden drones and strategically positioned snipers targeting President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance, among other officials. Law enforcement has named 23 suspects in total as the investigation continues. The affidavit states that group members believed the United States needed to be torn down and rebuilt, with some expressing that people connected to Jeffrey Epstein should not hold positions of power.
Authorities identified the ringleader as Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez of Omaha, Nebraska, who used the handle Shepherd on TikTok and Signal. Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen praised the FBI-led operation, saying, "I am proud beyond words not only that this terrorist is now behind bars, but also that our Nebraska State Patrol provided significant support in the FBI-led operation that took him into custody." Proper has reportedly admitted his role in the plot. The UFC Freedom 250 event proceeded without incident, with Justin Gaethje defeating Ilia Topuria for the lightweight title.
