UFC Vegas 111: Medic Drops Salikhov With First-Round Stoppage

Uros Medic stopped Muslim Salikhov in the first round of their UFC Vegas 111 welterweight fight in an impressive victory. 

Salikhov was riding a strong three-fight win streak, with victories over Santiago Ponzinibbio, Song Kenan and Carlos Leal. Salikhov is renowned for his spinning attacks, counters, and accuracy. Meanwhile, Medić’s six wins from the UFC all come by way of stoppage, as he added a seventh. 

It just took him 63 seconds to end this fight, as he lived up the tag as the favorite. He connected with a smooth left hand that landed flush on the chin. As it did so, Salikhov fell to the canvas, allowing Medic to throw some ground-and-pound strikes as the referee intervened to stop the fight.
