UFC Oklahoma City adds Anderson vs Elliott on four days notice
A featherweight bout between undefeated newcomers Damien Anderson and Ezra Elliott has been added to UFC Oklahoma City on four days' notice.
The pairing, first reported by Marcel Dorff, will see two prospects with perfect finishes in all their professional wins step into the Octagon for the first time Saturday at Paycom Center. Elliott trains alongside Sean O'Malley at Red Hawk Academy and also spends time at The MMA Lab in Glendale, Arizona. The 26-year-old stopped Ashton Caniglia in the first round in May to move to 7-0 with five submissions and two knockouts.
Anderson brings elite grappling pedigree on short notice
Anderson arrived in mixed martial arts with serious credentials on the mat. The 5-0 prospect trained at B-Team Jiu-Jitsu with Craig Jones and Nick Rodriguez before the team dissolved. He has compiled four submission wins and one knockout under the Fury FC banner, all in the bantamweight division. Anderson will compete one weight class higher this weekend due to the abbreviated camp.
Both fighters have finished every opponent they have faced. Elliott has shown polish on the ground but also carries knockout power, while Anderson is a pure grappler who transitioned from competitive Brazilian jiu-jitsu with a flawless record intact.
The bout caps an 11-fight card headlined by Dricus Du Plessis and Kamaru Usman. The event airs Saturday from Oklahoma City.
