UFC cuts Sedriques Dumas after arrests, ankle monitor saga

The UFC has cut Sedriques Dumas, ending a turbulent run that saw the middleweight fighter make as many headlines for arrests as for bouts.

Dumas was removed from the promotion's active roster this week, MMA Fighting's Guilherme Cruz first reported. The 30-year-old departs with a 3-5-1 record inside the Octagon and a lengthy rap sheet that includes 15 arrests since 2014, according to MMA Mania.

Ankle monitor derailed UFC 311 appearance

Dumas earned his contract with a 47-second submission on Contender Series in 2022, but his UFC tenure never found stable ground. He dropped his debut to Josh Fremd, strung together two decision wins, then got knocked out by Nursulton Ruziboev. After one more victory over Denis Tiulilin, he closed his run with three straight losses and a no contest.

The fighter's most visible legal trouble came in April 2025, when he was arrested on felony home invasion robbery with a firearm, misdemeanor battery, and felony possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. A Florida court slapped him with an ankle monitor that carried a 100-mile travel radius, forcing the UFC to pull him from the UFC 311 card.

Dumas leaves the promotion at age 30 with no announced plans. Whether he surfaces in bare-knuckle or returns to the regional circuit remains to be seen.
