Tyson Fury books Wach tune-up, Joshua mega-fight pushed back

Tyson Fury will fight Mariusz Wach on July 24 in Thailand instead of moving straight into a mega-fight with Anthony Joshua.

The heavyweight bout takes place at Max Muay Thai Stadium in Pattaya and streams on Netflix, per Sherdog. Fury, 35-2, is coming off a unanimous decision over Arslanbek Makhmudov in April — his first appearance since back-to-back title losses to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024. The Wach fight is reportedly a stay-busy outing while promoters hash out terms for the long-discussed Joshua clash.

Wach arrives on a rough stretch

Wach brings a 1-3 record over his last four fights. The 46-year-old former WBO title challenger was knocked out by Makhmudov in 2022 and has spent his last two outings in one-versus-three MMA spectacles against influencers. "His last two fights were 1v3 MMA matches against influencers," Happy Punch noted on X, capturing the oddity of the booking.

Ring Magazine broke the news Monday, announcing the matchup as a heavyweight clash set for late July. Fury's team has not disclosed terms of the Joshua negotiations or whether a date is locked for that bout.
