Tim Tszyu is targeting the winner of Canelo Alvarez vs. Jermell Charlo or Terence Crawford moving forward.

The Australian does have a bargaining chip now. He becomes the WBO 154-pound champion once the Canelo-Charlo fight begins on September 30th, 2023.

Tszyu had been elevated to the status of a full champion after Charlo was stripped for not fighting Tim, who was his mandatory.

But before Tszyu can think about a big fight down the line, he must overcome his next fight against Brian Mendoza on October 15th, 2023.

But if he does come out victorious, Tim is keen on having a mega fight.

Tszyu On His Dream Fight

"Charlo has gone the other way. Hopefully, we can get the winner of Canelo – Charlo because I feel that is a big fight to be made as well. My dad fought Julio Cesar Chavez Sr [in July 2000] back in the day, and he grew up watching him.

"Everything is possible, especially when you’re at this level now, when you’re at the very one percent, especially a win over [Brian] Mendoza would be in the line. Yeah, I’d welcome that with both hands as well. Any mega-fight. I’m not scared of no one," Tszyu

Nevertheless, there is a chance that Tim would have to go up in weight. A win for Canelo or Charlo would mean a fight at 168 for Tszyu even if they did have a rematch.

Meanwhile, Crawford has also expressed his desire to jump up three weight classes to take on the winner of Canelo-Charlo. But in order to achieve greatness, one must take risks. And there is no getting away from that.

Tszyu On Chasing Legacy

"A name like Canelo in the future as a possible fight, that’s something I always dreamt about. In all honesty, for me the Mendoza fight is a pathway to the winner of Charlo-Canelo. And I see that as a Canelo win. Hopefully, fingers crossed, something like that can happen. But if the Charlo fight presents itself, beautiful. That’s the name I want. Man, I’m willing to go to heavyweight," Tszyu
