Sean O'Malley slams UFC White House fight kits as 'ugly'
Former UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley has gone public with his displeasure over the fight kits distributed for the promotion's recent White House event.
O'Malley told fans he wasn't sure if he was allowed to say it, but declared the gear ugly anyway. "I dunno if I'm supposed to say — they're ugly, mine were ugly," he said in remarks captured by Complex Sports and reported by Sherdog.
O'Malley's kit complaints echo fighter uniform frustrations
The criticism adds to a long history of fighter complaints about UFC apparel since the promotion signed an exclusive deal with its uniform partners. O'Malley, who lost the 135-pound title to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306 last September, attended the White House event alongside other UFC athletes as part of a promotional appearance.
The UFC has not commented on O'Malley's remarks. The promotion's White House visit took place earlier this year as part of outreach efforts tied to the incoming administration.
