Romero Says Haney Fight Will Never Happen
Rolly Romero has written off any chance of facing Devin Haney, claiming the former lightweight champion is afraid to step in the ring with him.
Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Romero said he made Haney a substantial financial offer that was rejected. "Me and Devin are never going to fight because Devin is scared of me, and I'm not going to waste my time," Romero said, per Bad Left Hook.

Why Romero-Haney Negotiations Collapsed
Romero pointed to issues with Haney's promotional setup as a stumbling block, noting that Devin Haney Promotions lacks the credentials to participate in purse bids. He dismissed the outfit as illegitimate and suggested Haney's team operates on the cheap. "They're always fighting for a going out of business sale," he said.
The welterweight titleholder also fired back at Ryan Garcia, who has expressed interest in facing the winner of Romero's upcoming defense against Teofimo Lopez. Romero accused Garcia of ducking him twice — once after their rematch clause and again following Garcia's bout with Barrios. "He's just chasing whatever clout he can get right now," Romero said. "Don't bring up Ryan Garcia, he's a clout-chasing fool."
